§01
What ALAN is
ALAN Intelligence is a research and tracking platform operated by ALAN Global Intelligence, a sole proprietorship. The platform aggregates publicly-available financial data, government filings, and market context, and presents it through interactive dashboards, screening tools, scenario simulators, and editorial briefs. It is software designed to help users do their own research; it does not make investment decisions for you.
§02
What ALAN is not
ALAN Intelligence is not, and does not hold itself out to be:
- A registered investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 or any state-level adviser act.
- A broker-dealer or member of FINRA / SIPC.
- A custodian of client assets — we never hold cash, securities, or wallet keys on behalf of users.
- An execution venue — we do not place trades, route orders, or take payment instructions.
- A fiduciary to any user. Decisions made using ALAN are the user's alone.
§03
Data sources & limitations
Financial fundamentals come from SEC EDGAR filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Form 4, 13F, etc.). Market quotes and daily bars come from Yahoo Finance via the yahoo-finance2 library. Macro data is sourced from FRED where available and Yahoo as a fallback. Each source has its own delay, completeness, and accuracy characteristics; ALAN does not represent that any displayed number is real-time, audited, or free of parsing errors. Critical decisions should be cross-referenced against primary sources.
§04
AI-generated content
Some research surfaces (theses, summaries, scenario impacts) are generated by large language models. AI-generated content can contain factual errors, omit material information, or surface plausible but unsupported claims. It is intended as a starting point for your own research, not a substitute for it.
§05
Conflicts of interest
As of the date above, ALAN Intelligence:
- Does not receive payment from issuers, brokers, or fund sponsors for the placement, ranking, or favorable mention of any security.
- Does not accept paid promotion within editorial briefs, picks, or research surfaces.
- Does not maintain undisclosed positions in securities discussed by name in editorial content. Operators may hold long-only personal positions disclosed at the firm level upon request.
If this changes, this page will be updated and a notice will be posted in the briefs feed.
§06
Performance & past results
Backtests, model returns, scenario impacts, and historical analyses describe what could have happened given assumed conditions. They are not predictions or guarantees. Past performance does not indicate future results. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
§07
Exam preparation content
ALAN offers study materials for financial industry certification exams (currently the FINRA SIE and NASAA Series 65). These materials are educational products, not regulatory services.
- ALAN Intelligence is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to FINRA, NASAA, Prometric, or any exam administration body.
- All lessons, practice questions, flashcards, and study plans are independently authored. No proprietary exam content from FINRA or NASAA is reproduced.
- Practice scores and readiness indicators are platform-internal estimates and do not predict actual exam performance.
- Exam names ("SIE," "Series 65," "Series 7," etc.) are regulatory designations used descriptively, not as marks of affiliation.
- Users should verify current exam eligibility requirements, content outlines, and passing scores directly with the administering body before registering.
